The ninth edition of Mònde – Festa del Cinema sui Cammini opens tomorrow, May 28, 2026 , the film festival that will transform the city of Foggia into a widespread laboratory of culture, cinema and education.
Four days of events until May 31st, with over 60 events including screenings, masterclasses, concerts, meetings with authors, and urban itineraries, spread across multiple city venues including the Teatro Giordano, the Santa Chiara Auditorium, the Fondazione dei Monti Uniti, and Laltrocinema. Palazzo Dogana , the historic seat of the Province of Foggia , hosts the photography exhibition "Stories on the Road between Faith and Tradition," created by the FotoCineClub Foggia , which can be visited until June 5, 2026 (more information here ).
The theme chosen for this edition of the festival is the unexpected, expressed through a program that views travel not only as a physical journey but as a cultural and transformative experience. Four competitive sections are scheduled: Panorama Cammini (2026 Mònde Prize), Panorama Memoria (MAD Archive Prize), Panorama Archeologia (Marina Mazzei Prize), and Panorama Kids & Generation (Mònde Kids Prize). A total of 21 feature-length films and over 50 short films from Italy, France, Spain, Turkey, Iran, India, Brazil, Canada, the United Kingdom, Peru, and the United States are in competition.
This edition features a host of high-profile international guests: two-time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey will be the star of the show on Friday, May 29, at the Arena Mònde in the Villa Comunale , where he will receive the 2026 Honorary Mònde Award and participate in a public dialogue hosted by journalist Silvia Bizio. Director Terry Gilliam will hold a masterclass and present a complete retrospective of his works. Actor Matthew Modine is among the announced international guests. Italian performers include Margherita Buy (Maria Marcone Special Award), Maurizio Nichetti (Monti Uniti Foundation Special Award, with masterclass), and Lino Musella, winner of the David di Donatello Award for Best Supporting Actor. Special events include a film-concert by Asian Dub Foundation, who will provide a live soundtrack to Mathieu Kassovitz's film La Haine in a unique event in Italy in 2026, along with DJ sets by Samuel and Johnny Marsiglia.
The festival also hosts a section dedicated to the relationship between cinema and archaeological heritage, created in collaboration with the University of Foggia, and a partnership with the NFMLA – NewFilmmakers Los Angeles circuit, which will open a path for young Apulian filmmakers to the international audiovisual market. Also noteworthy is the collaboration with the Apulia Film Commission and the participation of Confcommercio – Impresa Cultura Italia for the panel on cinema as a driver of regional development. For children and families, there are the Cammini di Mònde Kids, free urban itineraries that explore the history of Foggia from the Neolithic to the 19th century.
The festival is supported by the Puglia Region as part of the 2021-2027 Complementary Operational Program. Mònde will return to the charming Rione Junno district of Monte Sant'Angelo.
Admission to events is free until seats are filled.
