Mònde Film Festival opens this week with international guests, outdoor screenings and a new photography exhibition — marking the ninth edition of an event that has made the journey, in all its forms, its defining subject. The festival runs from 28 to 31 May 2026, drawing film lovers, cultural figures and international guests to the heart of the Puglia region. Among the confirmed guests, actors Matthew Modine and Kevin Spacey.
The programme opens today, Monday 25 May, with the inauguration of the photography exhibition "Racconti in cammino tra fede e tradizione" (Stories on the Road: Faith and Tradition), from 5.00 pm at the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art – Polo Biblio-Museale della Regione Puglia, Palazzo Dogana. Created by the FotoCineClub Foggia, the exhibition brings together three photographic voices united by a single theme: the journey as a human and spiritual experience.
Featured works include: Edmondo Di Loreto — Transumanze (Transhumances); Alfredo Ingino — San Michele 1979; Nicola Ritrovato — Il rumore dei passi, il silenzio della mente (The Sound of Footsteps, the Silence of the Mind).
A journey in images through popular devotion, collective memory and the cultural identity of southern Italy. The exhibition remains open until 5 June, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am–1.00 pm and 3.00–7.00 pm.
